Here is an excellent series of videos that show the complex manufacture of Kodak’s photographic films – still made at Kodak Park, established in the 1890s in Rochester, New York, USA. Tim’s YouTube channel ‘Smarter Everyday’ examines a wide range of topics, usually of a mechanic nature, with enthusiasm and detail.
Here he has unrivalled access to the modern plant and shows the process and technology of film making from raw materials to packaging. Well done Kodak for opening their plant to the outside world, which just wouldn’t have happened a few years ago.
